• To protect the device against mechanical or electrical
damage, install it in a suitable housing with appropriate
degree of protection as per IEC60529.
• The device complies with the EMC regulations for in-
dustrial areas (EMC classA). When using the device in
residential areas, it may cause radio interference.
• Only specified devices from Satel may be connected to
the 12-pos. S-PORT interface.
5.3 UL Notes
5.4 Conformance
FCC
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC rules. Opera-
tion is subject to the following two conditions:
(1) This device may not cause harmful interference.
(2) This device must accept any interference received, in-
cluding interference that may cause undesired operation.
Any changes or modifications not explicitly approved by
Satel could cause the device to cease to comply with FCC
rules Part15, and thus void the user's authority to operate
the equipment.
Radio frequency exposure:
The device contains a radio transmitter and receiver. During
communication the device receives and transmits radio fre-
quency (RF) electromagnetic fields (microwaves) in the fre-
quency range of 2400MHz to 2483.5MHz.
RF Exposure Statement:
This equipment should be installed and operated with a min-
imum distance of 20cm between the radiator and your
body.
This transmitter must not be co-located or operating in con-
junction with any other antenna or transmitter.
This device contains:
FCC ID: YG3RAD2400A
Industry Canada (IC)
Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this
device may not cause interference, and (2) this device must
accept any interference, including interference that may
cause undesired operation of the device.
This device has been designed to operate with an antenna
having a maximum gain of 9dBi.
Having a higher gain is strictly prohibited per regulations of
Industry Canada. The required antenna impedance is
50ohms.
To reduce potential radio interference to other users, the an-
tenna type and its gain should be so chosen that the equiv-
alent isotropically radiated power (EIRP) is not more than
that permitted for successful communication.
This device contains:
IC certificate: 4720B-RAD2400A
INDUSTRIAL CONTROL EQUIPMENT FOR HAZARD-
OUS LOCATIONS 45FP
A This equipment is suitable for use in ClassI, Zone2,
IIC T4 and ClassI, Division2, Groups A, B, C,D T4A
hazardous locations or non-hazardous locations only.
B WARNING - EXPLOSION HAZARD - DO NOT DIS-
CONNECT EQUIPMENT UNLESS POWER HAS
BEEN SWITCHED OFF OR THE AREA IS KNOWN
TO BE NON-HAZARDOUS.
C WARNING - EXPLOSION HAZARD - SUBSTITU-
TION OF COMPONENTS MAY IMPAIR SUITABILITY
FOR CLASS 1, DIVISION 2.
D These devices are open-type devices that are to be in-
stalled in an enclosure suitable for the environment
that is only accessible with the use of a tool.
E WARNING - Exposure to some chemicals may de-
grade the sealing properties of materials used in relays
within this device.
F WARNING - EXPLOSION HAZARD - S-PORT IS FOR
MAINTENANCE AND PROGRAMMING ONLY AND
SHOULD ONLY BE USED WHEN THE AREA IS
KNOWN TO BE NON-HAZARDOUS.
NOTE: Interference
This equipment has been tested and found to
comply with the limits for a Class A digital de-
vice, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC rules.
These limits are designed to provide reason-
able protection against harmful interference
when the equipment is operated in a commer-
cial environment. This equipment generates,
uses and can radiate radio frequency energy
and, if not installed and used in accordance
with the instruction manual, may cause harm-
ful interference to radio communications. Op-
eration of this equipment in a residential area
is likely to cause harmful interference, in
which case, the user will be required to correct
the interference at his own expense.
